My Laking National Loyalty Rewards Card

Friday, September 16, 2016
I've been loyal to National Bookstore for a while now and applying for their loyalty rewards card is something I had no regrets doing. I earn points for each purchase I make which will become e-purse to pay for my next item if I wanted. It is actually one of the many rewards card I have that I really use and I never leave my house without.

What is "Laking National" National Bookstore Loyalty Program anyway?

"Laking National" National Bookstore Loyalty Program works like any other rewards card in the country. You apply for the card, pay a minimum amount for membership fee (or collect receipts for free card) and present your card every time you purchase a product to a particular store or service. I personally shop at National Bookstore and I bet every Pinoy has and will always be National Bookstore junkie. It is like heaven for a self-confessed bookworm and planner addict like me. It houses almost every school and office supply you need plus other unexpected materials you didn't even know you will be in need of.

Does Customer Rewards Card Really Work?

Wednesday, May 4, 2016

A friend once wondered why I'm so obsessed in so-called rewards card. He told me that in a broader sense, rewards card and/or customer loyalty program doesn't really add value to the consumer but rather to the company itself. You buy to that brand and receive points but you can only that points to purchase the item on the same brand.

His point make sense right? I honestly thought hard about his statement that night. I have shared countless posts on Rewards Cards that I own and my review for each but never have I seen his view. For me rewards card give additional value to the money I buy at the store.

What my friend told me inspired today's post. I thought it'll be fun to share My Loyalty Rewards Card Experience and the pros and cons it had caused me. a I hope you find this post interesting.

The Many Rewards Card I Own

My wallet has always been filled with customer loyalty rewards card. I apply specially on y brands that I actually use and those that give you special freebies upon signing up. Below are the many rewards card I own:

  1. SM Advantage Card - This was the card that started my obsession with loyalty rewards program. The SM Advantage Card rewards members with points for purchases made in SM Department Stores, SM Supermarket and other SM Retail Establishments like Waltermart Supermarket, Watsons and others.

How Much? The SM Advantage Express Membership Kit can be bought the cashier counter for 150pesos.

How to Apply? You have the to fill in the application form and your personalized SM Advantage Card will be given to you in an instant. You can also apply online and receive a confirmation email on how to claim your card.

How it Works? Depending on the store/partners you shop with you can earn 1 point for every 200pesos you spend. Other partner stores will requires 400pesos instead. Each point equals 1pesos you can collect and use as payment.

Validity is one year only and you need to pay 100pesos for renewal as well as lost card.

  1. Robinsons Rewards Card- I got this card one December while I was shopping for Christmas gifts to my family members. I bought almost 1000pesos and I thought it would be beneficial to apply for the rewards card and convert my purchase to points. I have discussed about My Robinsons Rewards Card in a past post LINK HERE.

Does Customer Loyalty Rewards Card Really Work?

The answer to this question depends per loyalty rewards card you own. I personally experienced and enjoyed the rewards from my Laking National Card, Swirl Card and Advantage Card for countless times. As per my other cards I will be honest that I don't use them that much and I even lost some of them like the My Robinsons Rewards Card.

The thing about Rewards Card that lets you earn points for every shopping you make is that if ever a time comes that you don't have money at all or you are reserving your money for something else, you can buy the item you want like its free.

I used the points I have with My Swirl Cards to treat myself with a nice meal at Coffee Bean. I used the points I earned in My Laking National Card to purchase the book I want to buy this 2016, Room by Emma Donahue. I used my Advantage Card to buy materials for my DIY Lightbox.

So yes, Customer Loyalty Rewards Card and other promos do WORK.

But Wait There's More...

Below are my tips and lessons I learned all through out my personal love affair with Rewards Card:

  1. Only apply on brands, stores and establishments YOU REALLY USE. I have a Rewards Card for UNO Store which is the Retail Department Store of Waltermart but I only used it once and lost it. That's because I don't really go to Waltermart stores.
  2. Bring them with you like usual ATM or credit card so you won't misplace them. You'll never know when you can use them right.
  3. Almost all rewards card I mentioned above and others from well-known brands have sharing policty. Meaning, others can use your card so the points will be accounted to your card.
  4. It will help if you buy items in bulk especially on grocery from supermarkets.
  5. Maximize the perks that comes with your Rewards Card. Attend sales exclusive for members or any event/promo that the brand announced. It will be nice if you follow the establishment on Instagram or Facebook.
PS. I am in no way affiliated to any company/brand mentioned above. This post is based on my personal experience.

Do you also own any rewards card? What's your experience so far? Do you think they are give real benefits for us customers? Share your thoughts below.

My GetGo Lifestyle Rewards Card by Cebu Pacific

Wednesday, February 17, 2016
Remember my iBlog 11 experience? I went to this amazing blogging conference last Decemer that I will never forget. It was a 2-day event filled with lessons about blogging and social media.

One of the sponsors during the event was GetGo Lifestyle by Cebu Pacific and they willingly gave away free rewards card membership to the attendees. I haven't used the card yet but as a rewards-obsessed person that I am, I thought it would be nice to give you a detailed introduction an information about the GetGo Lifestyle Rewards Card by Cebu Pacific.

Information

The GetGo Lifestyle Rewards Card is a product of Cebu Pacific. It is a lifestyle rewards program that gives you free flights by flying with Cebu Pacific. The program is open for all loyal members and is a point system where in each flight you avail generates a point and is then convertible to buy free flights and add-ons in Cebu Pacific.

How it Works

With GetGo Lifestyle Rewards Card you will earn 1 GetGo points for every 5pesos you spent with Cebu Pacific and Cebgo.

Aside from flights you spent you also earn points for add-on products like prepaid baggage, seat selector, pre-ordered meal and sports equipment.

GetGo Lifestyle Rewards Card also has list of partners where you can earn points for every transaction.

Redeeming Your Points

If you book a flight for 5,000pesos fare then you'll get 1,000 points. According to a blogger that had already tried redeeming his points LINK the conversion per points is only around 30 cents. So your 1,000 points  could be more or less 300pesos only.

The conversion of points also depends on how popular the flight is. If its a popular flight then the conversion per points will be much lesser.

You can redeem your points for any Cebu Pacific Air or Cebgo flight (including add-ons). Cebu Pacific didn't publish any conversion table for the public to see. You have to check it yourself as you login on your personal account at the www.GetGo.com.ph website and then redeem.

You can use your collected points as follows:
  1. As payment for a flight
  2. As payment for taxes and fees associated with your flight booking
  3. As payment for add-ons like prepaid baggage allowance etc. on your flight booking
  4. As payment for someone's flight as long as you add them on your Sharing Circle.
Redemption is not yet available to partner outlets but updates regarding this will be posted on the GetGo website for sure. You can only redeem your points.

Check THIS LINK to know about the partner outlets/services of GetGo Lifestyle Rewards Card. Among on the list are BDO, BPI, Petron, GoHotels.ph and Summit Hotels and Resort.
