Welcome to Day 6 of 14 Day Productive Living Program!

My ultimate goal for starting this whole series on Productivity is to really inspire others of how important time management is. It has been a huge struggle for me to balance everything in my life but I can only blame myself for being such a big procrastinator.

Here are again the topics we have discussed so far

Day 6 Productive Living for Students

If I could just go back to my life as a student I knew I would have done it differently. I would probably study better and just get things done on time. I know that my student life is not the worst… but still if only I had done way better.

Becoming a student is such an amazing journey and every student should cherish the time that they are in school and with their classmates and teachers. Though they may be times that a student tend to feel like they are too tired to study and just want to graduate… trust me… you will miss school right after graduation. Read Things I Realized After Graduation.

So if you are still a student here are the things that you can apply in your life in order to live productively and become a better student.

  1. Get your school supplies ready.
Another thing that I love about schooling is the new school supplies. Always see to it that you have your essentials such as paper, notebooks and pen. Keep a record on your textbooks and always place them in your study area free from harm or damage. Try to use a bag that fits your school supplies pretty well and yet you will still feel comfortable.

  2. Asks for your Academic Calendar or Year at a Glance.
This is available to any school so asking your professor or teacher will be very fine. You can also direct this inquiry to the official website of your school. Through the academic calendar you’ll have an idea on the important dates such as examinations, celebrations and those that are officially with no classes. You can have this as your first basis on studying too.

  3. Keep a planner.
Or even just an ordinary notebook where you can list your daily tasks and minutes of the meeting you attend to. I know that a planner may not be of an importance during the school life but if you can generate one then do so. It is important grow the idea of productive living as early as possible so that everything will just come naturally once you start living the real world.

    1. Take a peak on my planner HERE.
  4. Do some Advance Reading and Advance Study Notes
Take advantage of weekends and holidays and do some advance reading on textbooks and lessons that you find hard time dealing with. You can also have an extra notebook and keep an advance study notes with the new learning that you get. I learned this technique when I was in  High School and it truly works. Once the actual lesson comes up you’ll be more confident because you knew you had study well.

  5. Create a Study Routines.
Creating study routines are important because they will be the very things that you will look forward to every morning. A lot of study routine ideas are found in Pinterest.

Some Do’s and Don’ts to become a Productive Student

  • Do create a TIMELINE of the day and time each of your classes occur. You can put this on your planner or print multiple copies to paste on your notebooks. This is ideal so you’ll know what day a class will take place.

  • Do schedule your study time on your prime time. If you are a morning person then study in the morning just right after a hearty breakfast. You can also wake up way earlier than the usual to enjoy a productive day with your school projects or assignments. Always study in the time that you have the most energy with.

  • Don’t procrastinate. Get the important things done as early as possible. Don’t give room for procrastination to take place. Beat procrastination by setting a study goals. Your goals can be as high as becoming the year-end valedictorian or summa cum laude or  as common as finishing the due essay at exactly 2pm.

  • Do review your notes. What you write in your notebook should not be forgotten. Take time right after school to read what you have written in your notebook. This means you need a good note-taking method to capture everything that the professor or the teacher will say.
  • Don’t stress yourself. If everything becomes overwhelming and too much for you to handle then call a help. There are always a way to keep everything in order. Have a focus in your student life.

  • Don’t be too serious that you forget to have fun. You need to enjoy your student life too so give yourself a room to be happy. Have a hobby or a skill that you can develop and find happiness with. School life is a very nice season to know your talents that could make you rich in a short period of time.
